Esther Ida Helen Thompson (AKA: Bartell, Blum, Bruton) October 21, 1926-December 26, 2017 Esther passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. She was born in Cass County MN to Augustus Hale and Ida Pearl (Gleason) Bartell. She was one of 17 children. She married Robert Walter Blum March 4, 1946, and raised seven children Raymond Blum; Leona Eubank; Catherine Wallis; Cheryl Grimes (deceased); Paul Blum; Dolly Shiflett; and Michael Blum. She moved the children to Wenatchee Valley in 1957. There she met and married Delbert O'Dell Bruton August 6, 1971. She also served as her mother's and husband's Caregiver. She served as Hostess for the Royal Fork, owned/managed by her son Ray. She attended Wenatchee Valley College studying Accounting/Bookkeeping. She then worked for Morrill Asphalt and Roy's Truck Repair. She picked fruit and supported the family with all she had to give. She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, playing pinochle, camping, hunting, fishing, road trips, getting visitors, sharing stories, painting, and working Sudoku Puzzles. After Del passed, she met and married Clyde (Chuck) L. Thompson May 11, 2002, and joined families. They traveled as Snow Birds to Yuma AZ every winter. Meeting with their friends for special occasions, parties, and dancing, and visiting Mexico and other USA states of interest, including Alaska and Hawaii. She enjoyed her step-children Richard Bruton, Harvey Bruton, Debbie Bruton, Linda Bruton (deceased); Alan Thompson; Tommy Thompson; Tessie Kelley; Melinda White; and Monika Ward (deceased); and all their children and children's children. Mother is survived by her husband, six children, seven step-children, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren of both families; as well as hundreds of nieces and nephews of her eight brothers and eight sisters. Mother asked me to be sure and tell everyone she LOVES ALL HER CHILDREN VERY MUCH. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, one daughter, two step-daughters, and one granddaughter. Mother’s life will be celebrated on Friday, January 5th at 11:00 am at Jones & Jones – Betts Funeral Home, 302 9th Street, Wenatchee, WA. Interment will follow at Wenatchee City Cemetery.
