Eva E. Juchmes

Eva E. Juchmes, 85, of East Wenatchee, WA, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2015. She was born at the family home in Loxley, AL on July 2, 1929, to Leander "Pat" and Willie Mae (Sirmon) Middleton. She attended school in the area and met Lawrence Juchmes while he was in the Navy stationed in Pensacola, FL. They married August 8, 1944. They moved to Farmer, WA after Lawrence's discharge from the Navy. In 1951, they moved to McChord Air Force Base. In 1952, they moved back to Farmer and the family wheat farm, where they remained until their retirement. Eva spent the early years of their marriage working on the farm and raising their ten children. After they were all raised, she became very active in volunteer activities at St. Joseph;s Catholic Church and the Waterville Wheat Wives. She was really proud of her participation in baking and selling cinnamon rolls as a fund-raiser at the NCW Fair. In 1985, they began wintering Arizona. Together, they founded a group that made and sold cinnamon rolls for St. George's Church in Apache Junction to help pay off the church's mortgage, something of which Eva was particularly proud. After their retirement in 2002, they moved to Wenatchee. She is survived by her children: Marie Cadigan (John) of Cashmere, WA, David Juchmes of North Bend, WA, Jim (Marcia) Juchmes of Federal Way, WA, Frances (Jim) Maloney-Rayburn of East Wenatchee, WA, Cathy Juchmes of Wenatchee, WA, Jerry (Lynn) Juchmes of East Wenatchee, WA, Paul ( Julia Priest) Juchmes of White Fish, MT; daughter-in-law, Mary Juchmes of Moses Lake, WA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carrie Moore of Longview, TX and Ann Hearon of Deer Park, TX; two brothers, Emmett Middleton of Deer Park, TX, and Bill Middleton of Loxley, AL; and numerous of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; both parents; two brothers; two sisters; three sons, Edward, Robert and Harold; and one daughter, Mary Esther. The family is very grateful for the wonderful care she received from the staff of Avalon Peach Haven. Viewing will be at the Waterville Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 2, 2015. from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. The Rosary will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waterville on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., with Graveside Services following at the Waterville Cemetery.
