Lauren Locklyn Guzman

Lauren Locklyn (Baird) Guzman, 61 of Cashmere, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2015. Locklyn, as she was known, was born September 10, 1954 in Wenatchee, Washington to Roland (Dick) and Constance (Beverly) Baird. At 23 she married the love of her life, Valentin Guzman, to whom she was married for 37 years. They settled in Cashmere and together raised their seven children. A legal assistant for most her life, Locklyn worked for many lawyers in Wenatchee but spent the last 25 years working for her dear friend Kyle Flick. Outside of family and work, Locklyn spent her time establishing one of the top Shetland Sheepdog breeding programs in the nation. It was through her kennel, Apple Acres Shelties (originated by her mother), that Locklyn met many of her closest friends. As one of the top breeders, she was known for her sportsmanship and willingness to help other breeders in need. Regardless of where she was or who she was with, Locklyn was full of energy and flair, and never afraid to cross the line with one of her naughty stories or jokes. She was always the center of attention and had a laugh that brought life to every room she entered. Ever the loving mother, grandma, sister and friend, Locklyn showered her family and friends with all the love she had to give. Toward the end of her life, Locklyn rededicated her life to the Lord. She looked forward to her weekly Bible study and fellowship Sunday mornings. She is survived by her husband, Valentin Guzman, her children, Rory Baird and wife Jodi, Rani Eakle and husband Pat, Valente Guzman, Alita Guzman, Valentin Guzman, Gardenia Guzman, Gabriel Guzman, her 13 grandchildren, her father Dick Baird, and her siblings, Dicksie-Dael Garrett, Holly Avila and Loren Baird. She is preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Baird and her sister, Madonna Joy. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wenatchee, WA . Viewing with be held 1 hour prior to the service at the Church.
