Oreeda Ramsey

Oreeda Ramsey 76, of East Wenatchee went to be with her Lord on Wednesday December 15, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Oreeda was born on December 29, 1933 in Dixie, West Virginia, to Thomas and Thelma McGraw. She was one of nine children. Oreeda attended schools in Ward and Mammath, West Virginia. On July 27, 1950 she married Ronald Spencer Stone, in Ward. They had four daughters before moving to the Wenatchee Valley in 1957. They made their first home in Cashmere, where they worked in the fruit industry. They were blessed with the birth of a son and another daughter, Ronald passed away in 1975. In 1976 she married David Ramsey, who was the light of her life and they enjoyed 34 beautiful years together. They made their first home in Wenatchee, later moving to East Wenatchee where they have lived for the past 32 years. Oreeda worked at Tree Top for 21 years before retiring in 1995. Oreeda and Dave owned and operated Guardian Angels Daycare for six years. After retiring they enjoyed spending time together, Oreeda loved to travel, she made two trips to Ireland. She enjoyed fishing and camping with the family. One of her most memorable trips was in Montana panning for gold and looking for gems. She also made several trips to West Virginia and Arkansas visiting relatives. Oreeda had been a member of the V.F.W ladies auxiliary 3617 and had served as their Chaplin. She also served as poppy Chairman and had received several awards, Oreeda loved gardening and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed her large family and their family gatherings, especially during the Holidays. Oreeda was a very Loving and caring person, always putting others first. She had a great sense of humor and a gift for making others laugh. She will be missed more than words can say. We love you, Mom. Oreeda was preceded in death by her first husband Ronald; her daughter LaVonne Noble; and great granddaughter Katie, her parents; five brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her husband Dave of East Wenatchee, her daughters; Diana (Oscar) Danforth of Soap Lake, Cheryl Reser of Everett, Pam Puffenbarger, of East Wenatchee and Sandra Lachowsky-Stone of Seattle; one son Ron (Tammy)Stone of Wenatchee; 1 sister, Leoma Morris of West Virginia; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren The family would like to thank Dr. Patrick Lynch, Central Washington Hospital Home Care and Hospice and Chaplain Scott Langager for their wonderful care. A Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 20, 2010 at Jones & Jones ~ Betts Memorial Chapel with internment following at Evergreen Memorial Park, Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
