Bernice Ailine Parody October 2, 1928 – March 30, 2026 Long time Wenatchee, WA resident, Bernice Ailine Parody, age 97, passed away peacefully on Monday March 30, 2026. Bernice was born October 2, 1928, to Edna Allen (Barth) and Charles Allen in Spokane, WA. She attended school in Wenatchee before moving to Ardenvoir and graduating from Entiat High School in 1947. She met and married Jim Parody after a whirlwind courtship November 11,1951. She was a loving mother to four daughters; Debra (Jim) Bankson of Camano Island, WA, Laurie (Dave) Eichelberger of Wenatchee, Denise Parody of Wenatchee and June ( Scott) Curley of North Bend, WA. Bernice adored her six grandchildren: Christy Trimble, Marni Eichelberger, Megan Eichelberger, Rudy Bankson, MacKenzie Curley, Daniele Curley and three great grandchildren, Lily. Ellie and Wren. For most of her adult life, Bernice worked as a telephone operator at GTE. She also packed fruit at several local warehouses, including Cascadian Fruit Shippers and Welch Apples. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church/Saddlerock Evangelical Church for over 70 years. As a young mother, she was part of a neighborhood coffee hour where mothers and their children gathered weekly. She was, also, part of a long standing Pinochle Club. After retiring, she volunteered a lot. As a Lady Elk, she chaperoned teen dances and helped with refreshments for bingo nights. She was a constant volunteer at the Guild House until it closed and then volunteered at Our House, supporting cancer patients and their families. Bernice will be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind and generous heart, and her ability to bring people together. Bernice was preceded in death by her mother, father, her husband Jim of 66 years and her 5 younger brothers and sisters. Bernice is survived by her four daughters, sister Colleen Gilpin, her sister-in-law Dorothy Allen and beloved nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held at Wenatchee Cemetery on April 8th at 1:00 pm near the middle entrance to the cemetery. Reception to follow at Saddlerock Evangelical Church.
