Dale was born on March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, in 1946, to Lloyd and Blanche Kimmerly, in Tacoma, WA, and passed away on June 11, 2026, at his home in East Wenatchee. He was the youngest child in the family, joining older brothers Lloyd Jr., Raymond, and Ralph, and sister Eva. By the time he went to school, the family had moved to Dryden and he attended Dryden schools and graduated from Peshastin-Dryden High School in 1964. In January of 1967 he met his wife-to-be, Sherry at the Arctic Circle in Wenatchee. They began dating, became engaged, and were married on August 18, 1967. Throughout the 59 years of their marriage, they did a lot of things, went a lot of places and had a lot of fun together. They raised four children, daughters Kara Lynn, Julie Ann, Amie Raye and son Lance Dale. In 1973 he got a job with a telephone company which became his career path for the rest of his life. In 1974, the family moved to Alaska. He fished for sockeye salmon, shot many moose, caribou, a Dall sheep and a Mountain Goat. Dale and the family spent many hours fishing, camping, and gold mining. Dale obtained his private pilot license in 1975, and later he obtained his commercial and instructor flight ratings and owned a flight school for a couple of years. In 1992, Dale and Sherry returned to Wenatchee and purchased the cherry ranch up Squilchuck from Sherry’s mother. For the next 30 years, Dale grew yummy cherries and did telephone work. He started his own telephone Construction business. In 2010, he retired and turned the business over to his son, Lance. After returning to Washington, he continued his love of hunting and with his son Lance, began White Tail Deer hunting. That hunt grew from the 2 of them to a very large group of friends and family, including all 3 grandsons, and some of the granddaughters. After his love of family, Alaska, hunting and flying, he also liked to travel. He and Sherry and family members spent many years in the winter in Mazatlán, Mexico, and on many cruises, the last one was a 10 day Mediterranean Sea cruise with their daughter, Amie. For Lance’s graduation, Lance, Julie, Dale and Sherry went to Amsterdam and Belgium. Dale and Sherry also drove to many places in the US, including Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore. In 2021 Dale sold the ranch and he and Sherry moved to town. He had several health issues, which slowed him down some. But he still enjoyed life, having the kids and grandkids around now numbering 9, Mya, Kalynn, Jocelyn, Landen, Cody, Joella, Cameron, Rowyn and Hayleigh. Dale loved life, he loved his family, he loved the Lord and he was loved by all of them. He is survived by his beloved wife Sherry Kimmerly of East Wenatchee, Brother Ralph (Iris) Kimmerly of Cashmere, WA, Sister-in-Law Mary Jo Towne of Wasilla, AK, all four children; Daughter Kara (Steve) Hewitt of East Wenatchee, WA, Daughter Julie (Mark) Matheny of Everett, WA, Daughter Amie Kimmerly (Jim Reiter), of Spokane, WA, Son Lance (Rachel) Kimmerly of East Wenatchee, WA, as well as nine grandchildren, Mya Matheny of Everett, WA, Kalynn (John) Fortenberry of Yakima, WA, Jocelyn (Tucker) White of Tucson, AZ, Landen (Mauree) Kimmerly of Yakima, WA, Cody Kimmerly, Joella Hewitt, Cameron Kimmerly, Rowyn Hewitt, and Hayleigh Kimmerly all of East Wenatchee, WA, many nieces, and nephews and cousins all around Washington state.
