Darlene Isabelle Petersen

Darlene Isabelle Petersen, the beloved wife of Donald Harold Petersen and the mother of three sons, Robert, Ricky and Ronald passed away on January 3rd of 2016 with the love of her life Don holding her hand. Darlene was born on September 16th, 1930 as the 4th of 7 children to Truman and Gladys Fisher of Malaga, Washington. From the early age, Darlene musical talent, her ear for music, and her piano skills amazed and comforted her family. When she played the piano it was like the angels were whispering into your ears. In her high school senior year, she was chosen as Apple Blossom Princess. However, her love for Don was so deep she gave up the Princess title to be married to Don. Darlene was not only a gracious wife and a loving mother but also a hard-working woman. While raising the three boys she and Don adored, she never ceased to work. She worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a secretary supporting the busy department, worked for Wenatchee Regional Library on the book mobile for the people of Wenatchee who did not have the access to the library, and she also ran her own business helping people build their career paths. She also volunteered for Red Cross visiting nursing homes soothing senior citizens’ lost souls with her piano skills. In her late life, she developed some health issues. Despite her health condition, she never stopped caring for her family and the people in her life. Her asthmatic condition and her encounter with stroke never stopped her from cooking and baking for her family or prevented her from tending to her little garden right outside of the house Don and she built together. Darlene will be missed by her family but she will always be in their hearts to be cherished. Darlene is survived by her husband Donald Petersen, her sister Shirley Eddy and her brother Dave fisher, her sons Rick Petersen and Ronald Petersen, her grandsons Riley Petersen, Scott Petersen and Eric Petersen, her great-grandsons Collin Petersen and Kayden Petersen, and numerous nephews and nieces. The funeral service for our beloved Darlene will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11th, 2016 at Jones & Jones – Betts Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, January 10th at Jones & Jones – Betts Funeral Home. The online guest book is available at jonesjonesbetts.com.
