Darlene Gay Throgmorton

Darlene G. Throgmorton, 79, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, in Wenatchee, WA. She was born May 2, 1935, to Clyde and Lillian (Obergh) Jones. She grew up and attended Waterville Schools, graduating from Waterville High School in 1953. She married F. Robert Borders and they had four children, Lynn, Kenneth, Janet and Tami. While the children were small, she was involved in teaching Sunday School at the Federated Church. She was a leader or assistant leader for many years for Cub Scouts, Blue Birds, and Campfire Girls. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Federated Guild and Waterville Federated Church. Darlene worked at the Waterville Mercantile for 10 years and later worked as a recorder in the Douglas County Auditor’s Office for another 10 years, retiring in 1986. Each year that the Waterville Lions and the Rebekahs operated the Lion's Den at the Waterville Fair, Darlene was the gravy cook. She made many gallons each fair. She married Richard Throgmorton, the love of her life, April 9, 1987. They loved to travel in their RV and did a tour of the United States two different times. They lived in Aberdeen, Washington for eight years before, moving to Bullhead City, AZ and summering at Lake Chelan, WA. She is survived by her children, Lynn (Linda) Borders of Post Falls, Idaho, Ken (Melinda) Borders of Waterville, Janet (Paul Townsend) Clark of Grand Coulee, WA and Tami (Andy) Anderson of Nine Mile Falls, WA, Grandchildren, Bobby, William, Doug, Kevin, Leslie and Lori; brothers, Sonny ( Kay) Jones of East Wenatchee and Robert (Betty) Jones of Waterville: ,great grandchildren, Brandin, Traey, Kristafor, Awston, Sakura, Liam and Keira. She is also survived Step Children, Rod (Lori) Throgmorton and Kelvin Throgmorton, step grandchildren, Whitney, Ty, Jesse, Kyle and Step great grandchild, Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard. Memorial Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2015 in the Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum.
