Dennis Edward Ferrel June 8, 1951 - November 30, 2018 Born Athlete Man of Steel Dennis Edward Ferrel, age 67, was born and raised in Leavenworth, WA on June 8, 1951 to Charles and Berniece Ferrel, Sr. He lived in the Wenatchee Valley his entire life. Dennis attended grade school, middle school and high school, and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1969. He excelled at many sports including football, basketball, and baseball. Dennis then went on to Wenatchee Valley College. When finished at WVC, he continued his education at Eastern Washington State College for business and accounting. During that time, he enjoyed playing slow pitch and participating in the pool league for The Hitching Post Tavern. After his schooling, Dennis returned to Leavenworth and began logging. Due to his love for the outdoors, he was given the nickname, “Pine Tree”. Dennis truly had a servant’s heart and knew he wanted to make a difference in others’ lives, which lead Dennis to began his career at Chelan County PUD in 1976. Hired on as a Meter Reader, Dennis was employed there for 37 years and retired as a Serviceman. Throughout the 37 years, Dennis was known for his customer service, ability to trouble-shoot, and his attention to detail. Dennis married Susan (Sadie) Marie Hawkins on August 25, 1973 in Chelan, WA. They were married for 45 years, and she was the love of his life. Dennis always told Sadie, “If it wasn’t for you, woman, I’d be living under the bridge.”. Together they had three children, Brock, Kamron, and Alexis. Dennis lived for his family. He enjoyed spending time in the woods, going to deer camp with his friends, trap shooting, fishing, golfing, boating, snowmobiling, and coaching various sports. Dennis is survived by his wife, Susan (Sadie) Ferrel, his son, Kamron Ferrel, his daughter, Alexis and Matthew Scott, his grandsons, Parker and Brody Scott, and his brothers, Charles and Devona Ferrel, Jr., and Robert and Tess Ferrel, and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was proceeded in death by his father, Charles Ferrel, Sr., his mother, Berniece Ferrel, his son, Brock Ferrel, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends. The family wishes to thank Confluence Health, Wenatchee Fire and Rescue, Ballard and Lifelife Ambulance, Dr. Crabtree, Dr. Dillion, and Dr. Strause, along with many other medical staff over the years.
