Frances "Peggy" M. Stremke

FRANCES (PEGGY) MARGUERITE STREMKE August 1, 1926 - March 11, 2015 Frances (Peggy) Marguerite (Hargreaves) Stremke, 88, surrounded by family peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 11, 2015. Jesus needed another angel. She was born August 1, 1926 to Frank and Carmen (Peters) Hargreaves in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Peggy married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Alfred Stremke on New Years Eve 12/31/1942 at Fort Lewis Washington while Bob was serving in the Armed Forces during World War II. When he was shipped out she worked in a war plant polishing lenses for the bombardiers. After Bob was discharged from the military the two opened a florist shop and settled in Milwaukee, WI. They were blessed with three children, son David Michael (July 10, 1947) a daughter Cheryl Christine (September 21, 1948) in Milwaukee and a daughter Marguerite Rose (Miki) (April 4, 1957) in Port Washington, WI. In 1957 -1978 they moved around Florida where Peggy worked as a Head Cashier for Publix Supermarket. In 1978 the family moved to Wenatchee, WA and from 1978-1994 the two of them traveled the United States managing motels and involved themselves in the Masons/ Shriners and the VFW. Peggy was in Amarath and was a lifetime member of both Amarath and the VFW women's Auxiliary. In 1994 they retired and moved to the Masonic Retirement Center in Des Moines, WA and 5 years ago they relocated to Colonial Vista in Wenatchee, WA. Peggy was a wonderful devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family was very important to her and she worked hard to make sure that we always stayed close and loved each other. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, ceramics and was an avid reader. Peggy had an amazing sense of humor and such a beautiful smile that caught the attention of everyone even strangers commented of what a lovely smile she had that it brightened her surroundings. She will be dearly missed by so many family members, friends and caregivers. She was amazingly supportive to all and never complained, there was always a bright side. She is now with our Lord and watching over us all. Go with love and kisses we will always feel your love around us in all we do. Peggy is survived by Bob her husband of 72 years and two daughters Cheryl Stremke and Miki (Joe) Borigini and previous husbands Ed Mier, Jr. and Michael Toftness. Grandchildren: Tracy (Dave) Piepel and previous husband Ted Fukuzawa, Dennis (Kathy) Panzone, Tye (Jami) Panzone, Edward (Jennifer) Mier III, Robert ( Doreen) Mier, Jamie (Daniel) Paskins, Josh (Rachel) Toftness, and David (Vickie) Stremke. Great grandchildren: Tracy's children Taylor and Nick Fukuzawa and Madison and Katlin Piepel, Tye's children Cheyenne, Mia and Bella Panzone, Ed's daughter Eloise, Rob's son Lucas, Josh's children Ryder, Abby and Kanon Dave's son's David and Michael. She leaves behind many family and extended family members. Her brother Tony (Marian) Hargreaves and many nieces and nephews to numerous to list individually. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Frank (Carmen) Hargreaves, brothers Eugene, Bobby and Roger his wife Lois, sister Maxine and husband Bill Hegerty her brother Tony's son John(Jackie) and daughter Judy Ramsey, Peggy's son David and son in-law Dennis Panzone. Go be with the angels with love, hugs and kisses we will miss you so much. The family will be planning a celebration of life at a future date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Shriners Hospital, Humane Society or Central Washington's hospital's Hospice program. A special thanks to the Hospice nurses and staff involved in her care, Chaplain Keith and Chaplain Scott and the Colonial Vista staff, especially the CNA's who cared for her so lovingly.
