Linda M. Baskin

Linda Mae (Buchanan) Baskin, age 74, of East Wenatchee went to rest peacefully with her Creator on September 12, 2010 while surrounded by her loving family. Linda Mae was born on February 23, 1936 to Charles and Virginia Buchanan in Okanogan and was raised there with her three older brothers Harry, Ronny and Leo. She attended school in Okanogan and Twisp. Linda had 7 beautiful children (including 2 sets of twins) of which she raised single handedly after the death of her husband, Dale Best in 1958. In 1974 she married the love of her life, Thomas Baskin and together they spent the rest of her life dancing hand-in-hand. Linda and Tom ran the Antler’s Tavern in Twisp for several years before retiring and moving to Entiat and then East Wenatchee. Linda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the outdoors and spent much of her time hunting, fishing and camping. She enjoyed spending time with her large family and several lifelong friends. Those who knew her respected her for her courage to stand up for what she believed in. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Tom of East Wenatchee; son Gary (Helen) Best of East Wenatchee; son Terry (Renee) Best of Spokane; daughter Debbie (Bill) McDonald of East Wenatchee; son Harry Best of Omak; daughter Virginia “Ginny” Belgarde of Omak; daughter Dale Ann (Dave) Burdett of East Wenatchee; step-daughter Wendy Baskin of Medford Oregon, 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Buchanan (Harrison); her father Charles Buchanan; brothers, Harry, Ronny and Leo; her youngest son Dean Allen Best, and great- granddaughter Sarah Milhollen. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, September 18th, 2010 at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee. There will be a reception for family and friends at the Eagles Lodge at 1202 North Wenatchee Ave in Wenatchee following the graveside services. Linda will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
