Lola Jean (Davis) Lloyd October 7, 1925 - March 26, 2019 East Wenatchee, WA Tuesday, March 26, 2019, we lost Lola Jean (Davis) Lloyd (Jean to her family and friends). Jean was born in La Grande, OR, October 7, 1925. She moved frequently during her school years as her father, in the forest service, was often transferred. Some of her fondest memories are from her childhood years in Troy, OR. Jean spent her high school years in Spokane, WA, where she played basketball and loved to go dancing. Jean was a divorced, single mother to two daughters when she married Lyle Clinton Lloyd (1928-2000) in 1960. Together, Lyle and Jean had two more children. Lyle and Jean lived in Redmond, WA, from 1965 to 1999, then moved to East Wenatchee, WA, where she remained. Jean’s family and friends trusted Jean and treasured her wisdom and guidance; she was a sought-out listener, and confidant. Jean was an active and passionate member of Celebration Lutheran Church. Faith in God was a defining force in Jean’s life. Jean always enjoyed coffee, family, friends, playing cards, and laughing. Jean was a talented painter, and her works in pastels hang throughout her home. She also had a brilliant sense of humor and a sharp wit. Jean was a light and a joy in every life she touched. Everyone loved Jean. She loved all her children dearly, and was there for them regardless of the circumstances. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Myrle Davis; her siblings: Georgia Strauss, Alta Cormier, Lucille Davis, E. Erwin Davis; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. Jean is survived by her four children: Linda Cruz of Austin, TX, Shelley Helgesen (Mike) of Spokane, WA, Ken Lloyd (Barb) of Portland, OR, Paula Benge (Rick) of East Wenatchee, WA; and her step-son, David Lloyd of Anchorage, AK. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Jean lived the life she wanted, independent to her last day, always kind, always forgiving, extremely generous, and full of grace. She is a role model we can all hope to follow. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at Celebration Lutheran Church, 801 NE 8th St., East Wenatchee, WA.
