In Loving Memory of My Ma February 4, 1937 – July 16, 2026 It is with profound sadness and deep love that our family announces the passing of My Ma, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, at the age of 89. My was born on February 4, 1937, in Battambang, Cambodia. She was a woman of extraordinary strength, resilience, and unwavering determination. Following the hardships of the brutal Khmer Rouge regime, she lived as a refugee in Thailand from 1979 to 1983 before being sponsored to the United States in August 1983. She settled in Wenatchee, Washington, where she courageously rebuilt her life and created a lasting legacy for her family on American soil. Although adjusting to a new country was not without its challenges, she brought with her the rich traditions, culture, and vibrant spirit of her homeland. She became the anchor of our family, gracefully bridging the gap between her Cambodian roots and the new life she built in America. She was known for her unwavering work ethic, her incredible stories of life and perseverance, and the remarkable strength she displayed in surviving two open-heart surgeries. Her happiest place was simply being surrounded by her family. Whether she was bluffing her way through a hand of poker, dealing Chinese cards around a relative's kitchen table, or eagerly marking her bingo card during a lively game, she was always in her element. She had a wonderful competitive spirit and a contagious sense of humor, but her favorite part of every game night was the laughter, love, and connection she shared with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. My was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nak Touch, and her son, Sok Touch. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever live on through her children: Bunny Touch, Neang Touch, Nay Touch, Noy Touch, Heng Touch, Chanthou Touch and her cherished 24 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many relatives, lifelong friends, and extended family both in the United States and Cambodia. My's life was a testament to courage, sacrifice, and unconditional love. Through every challenge she faced, she remained steadfast in her devotion to her family, ensuring that future generations would have opportunities she could only dream of. Her wisdom, strength, generosity, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her strength, kindness, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
