Naoma Elizabeth Goodman

Naoma Elizabeth Lynch Goodman, of Wenatchee, WA went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2011. She was born is Springtown, AR on May 18, 1919 to William and Susan Lynch. Her family moved to the small country town of Freewater, OR in 1930. In those days social gatherings happened at church and that is where she met and later married Robert “Bob” Goodman in 1939. In 1945 Naoma and Bob moved to Wenatchee where they raised their two children, Linda and Michael. She was a lifelong member of the Church of God and was very involved with the church in East Wenatchee. She loved teaching children’s Sunday school classes and working with the Ladies Missionary Society. Naoma also worked in the fruit industry and was very proud of her years at Skookum, She loved flowers and her yard was full of roses, tulips, iris and peonies. Her beautiful flowers were used in many Sunday church services. She showed her support for Wenatchee High School by planting purple and yellow petunias in her yard for years and loved when neighborhood kids stopped by for a visit. Naoma shared her love and knowledge of gardening with everyone. There was never a tree she couldn’t identify. When she was younger she was an avid photographer and took hundreds of photos of friends and family including her six grandchildren. One of her favorite things to do with her grandchildren was to spend time in the mountains on their property at Lake Wenatchee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister, LaVerne Pavish of Walla Walla, WA and her grandson, Greg Goodman of Chelan. She found comfort in knowing she would be seeing them again. She is survived by two brothers, Dallas Lynch of North Richland Hills, TX and Donald Lynch of Walla Walla, WA; two children, Linda Irwin of Wenatchee and Michael Goodman of Chelan; five grandchildren, Caryn Musumeci of Aptos, CA, Mark Hussey of San Jose, CA, Kristine Hudson of Everett, WA, Tori Richmond of Wenatchee, WA and Dale Goodman of Oregon City, OR and nine great-grandchildren; Taylor, Owen, Nathan, Ian, Joseph, Natalie, Chloe, Haley and Emily. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, January 12 at Jones & Jones ~ Betts Funeral Home in Wenatchee. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 P.M.
