Sharon Park

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of my mom, Sharon Lee Park, who left peacefully on the morning of October 12, 2025. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend whose kindness and spirit touched all who knew her. Sharon was born in Seattle, on March 6,1947 to Dick and Betty Park. The family moved to Brewster, WA where she spent a significant part of her life. She shared an adventurous childhood with her sister Madelyn and brother Ritchie. Together they spent days fishing, camping, and swimming, and enjoyed the community of small-town living. Her family planted and nurtured an apple orchard on Brewster Flats, which is where she learned about hard work and dedication. As a child she loved going to Camp Zanika Lache in Wenatchee where she mastered archery during summer camp activities. She was an avid swimmer and loved to be on the water. She married Ken Schutter in 1965 and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Tawni and Shauna who were the lights of her life. Sharon carried deeply, and as a mother was always involved in her daughters’ activities, from serving as a BlueBird and CampFire leader to coaching their softball teams. Her compassion extended beyond her family as she volunteered in her community and helped others whenever she could. Her love of music had her dancing to all genres of music with Elvis,The Beatles and the 80s music being her top favorites. She helped decorate for high school dances both her own in highschool and Tawni & Shauna’s. Sharon loved to play pinochle with her group of friends, gardening and baking desserts for the holidays. Her intelligence, integrity and strong work ethic helped her build a career in City Government, advancing to the City of Lynwood and then serving as City Clerk-Treasurer for the City of Woodway, WA. She was an avid traveler whether it was within Washington State on road trips to local towns to explore and to see the changing seasons. She loved shopping, spending time at Alta Lake at the family cabin, dancing in the kitchen, treasure hunting for antiques and decorating for holidays! Above all the most important thing to her was her family. Life brought both blessings and heartbreak, as she faced the deepest pain for a mother losing her daughter Shauna, who left our world too soon. Despite life’s challenges, Sharon continued to face life with grace, helping others always with a generous heart. In her later years, Alzheimer’s gradually took her memories, but her warmth, humor, and sweetness remained untouched. She continued to smile, to laugh, and to radiate love. Through her journey, Sharon taught all who loved her the true meaning of patience, compassion, and unconditional love. She was fortunate to have such wonderful caregivers. Sharon will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents Dick and Betty Park, her daughter Shauna Schutter-Rehfeld, and her brother Ritchie Park. She is survived by her daughter Tawni (Chris), sister Madelyn, niece Nannette (Jerry), children Ashley (Tanner) and Dane (Alexis), nephews Donnie (Michele) and daughter Marie, along with nephews Darrell and Rich Park (Tricia) and son Richard. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Union Hill Cider Company, located at 3126 Ridgeway Dr, East Wenatchee, WA 98802.
