Douglas Wayne Johnson

Douglas Wayne Johnson, 64, of Wenatchee passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019. Doug was born on March 23, 1955 to Buford and Mildred (Tyrone) Johnson in Wenatchee. He was raised in Rock Island, where he lived an adventurous childhood. He graduated from Eastmont High School in 1973. He began working for Roy Taylor Trucking. He then worked at Wenatchee Sand & Gravel driving mixer truck where he worked for over 25 years and made many lifelong friends. He married Barbara (Bozett) in 1982, they had two children, Ben and Kady. Throughout his life he enjoyed cars, boating, raising his kids, working, music, yardwork, and being a grandpa. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and spoiling them often. He spent time volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Al- Anon club. Doug made friends everywhere he went. His smile, loud laughter and sense of humor will be missed by many. Doug is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Heather Johnson of Wenatchee, his daughter and son-in-law, Kady and Murphy Gonzalez of East Wenatchee; grandchildren, Tyson, Max, Vaida, and Grey; two brothers, Ty Johnson of Ferndale, WA and Grant Johnson and wife Verla of Rock Island; half sister Dixie Marshall of Spokane, WA; ex-wife Barb Johnson of Wenatchee; nieces, Taylor Johnson of Quincy, WA, Stefanie Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, Stacia Johnson of Seattle, WA, Kelsey Johnson of Dallas, TX and nephew Chance Johnson of Bellingham, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Mildred Johnson. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, June 28th at 11`00AM at Jones & Jones -Betts Funeral Memorial Chapel, 302 9th St, Wenatchee, WA. A reception will be held at The Rock Bar & Grill, Rock Island at 5PM.
