Wanda F Maxson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

It is with sadness and joy that we tell you our mom Wanda passed away Sunday. Sadness as we will miss her physical presence in our lives in an immeasurable way. Her wit, her laughter, and smile brought a joy to us and those around her we cannot describe sufficiently. Mom had a stroke 23 years ago that robbed her of much of her physical abilities and speech. Despite the difficulties, she daily demonstrated perseverance and love that is beyond description. Mom had another stroke a few weeks ago that did even more damage than the one 23 years ago. Despite the damage of the second stroke, she still had her smile that lit up the room with a twinkle in her eye and she never stopped trying to physically get better. We knew she was limited in her ability to recover, but, mom being mom she surprised us daily with her determination. Unfortunately things turned for the worse on Friday and she left us on Sunday. But even in this time of sadness lies great joy. Joy because she was the best mom, sister, daughter, aunt and wife you would ever know. Joy because the day before the stroke we were in Spokane at Zach and Kate's house celebrating with them and spending time with her great-grandson Atticus. Joy because it was the first time since 2018 mom and dad were on a trip and it made her so happy to be celebrating events with her family. Joy because she is no longer trapped in her body. Joy because mom passed with no pain and with family surrounding her with love which all we had prayed for. Joy and thanks as God blessed us in answering those prayers for mom.
