Margaret A. Clark

Margaret Clark June 16, 1928 – March 30, 2014 Margaret Clark, of East Wenatchee, passed away with her family at her side. She was born on June 16, 1928 to James and Ivy (Wild) Wilson in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario Canada. Growing up Margaret enjoyed helping her father in his drug store. And she also with her Aunt and Uncle with the lake cabins at Lake Superior. Music was a very important and enjoyable part of her life. Her Uncle Eric Wild was a musician composer from Canada. They wrote music together. Eric would do the music and Margaret wrote the words. She also sang in the church choir and later with a band. She graduated from high school at 15. She then went on to Nursing School in Kitchener, Ontario. Upon graduating, at the request of her Uncle, Dr. John Abraham in Wenatchee, she came to Wenatchee where she met the love of her life LeRoy “Bill” Clark. They knew they would marry after knowing each other only for two weeks. They were married on July 2, 1952. Margaret worked at Deaconess Hospital for many years. She specialized in OB/GYN (helped deliver many years). She was blessed with twins, Leslie and Carol. Margaret worked part-time for a few years as the twins kept her busy. When the twins were in school, she went back to work full-time. She taught at Wenatchee Valley College for a few years. Also, she was a bookkeeper and then a manager at the East Wenatchee Golf & Country Club. When her husband, Bill retired from Alcoa, they traveled. They went to Hawaii and brought back outfits for their grandchildren. They also enjoyed taking the grandchildren to Sault Ste Marie to see Margaret’s family. They drove and stayed at motels with water slides. Margaret would test out the slides first before the grandchildren. She said it was to make sure it was alright for the little ones! She was an awesome grandma. Margaret was a member of White Shrine, Eastern Star, Rebekah’s and Odd Fellows. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Clark on May 2013. She is survived by her brother, John Wilson of Coquitlam, B.C.; her children, Carol, Leslie, Lisa, Cyndi and Diane; her grandchildren, Jim (Samantha), Melissa (Darius), Michael (Andrea), Tyler (Krista), Christie (Aaron), Saraya (Mike), Cody (Jazz) and Natalie (Mike); great grandchildren, Shania, James, Alexis, Emily, Megan, Jayden, CC, Logan, Kaylen and Jessica (Jaime). Mom, we miss you very much. We know you and dad are together again. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Jones & Jones-Betts Memorial Chapel in Wenatchee.
