Margaret "Peggy" Lee Wilsey

Margaret (Peggy) Wilsey, a long-time resident of the Wenatchee area, passed away Sunday, Jan 3rd at Central Washington Hospital, after her valiant fight with Pulmonary Hypertension. Her strong will to live, unwavering love for her husband and the prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through 14 years of this grueling disease. Yet, throughout her struggle with PPH she always worried about the well-being of others. She was born Aug 8th, 1936 in Leavenworth WA. The family later moved to Wenatchee where she met the love of her life, Charles Wilsey, who had moved in next door to her. From that moment on they were constant companions, traveling, fishing at The Cove, sight seeing and visiting family across the states. Peggy spent many summers at the cabin at Lake Wenatchee, where she spent much of her teenage years with her best friends Kay, Judy, and her boyfriend Charles. She loved them all very much. In her adult life, The Cove at Fish Lake is where she loved to be. Surrounded by family, campfires, squirrels, smores, rowboats, and the mosquitoes always made being at the lake an adventure. She was a Cub-scout leader for years and then a Brownie and Campfire leader, participating in many fun adventures. No one ever went hungry with Peggy around, she made sure everyone was well fed, even if they weren't hungry☺. She loved to Crochet and has made many afghans for loved ones. Apple blossom was always a very special time for Peggy, she enjoyed the royalty selection and faithfully kept a scrapbook of all the queens and princesses. Her loving and caring personality drew people to her and Charles, and made for wonderful get togethers with family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents Ollie and Mabel Kelley, sister Nita West, brother Bud Kelley and niece Janet Wilsey. Survived by her beloved husband Charles "Chuck" Wilsey, son Jeff Wilsey, daughters Jill Blankenship and Jenny Blase, grandkids Crystal, Maranda, Aryn, Lauren, great grand children Archer, Brielle, Rylee, and her "baby" Annie. We will always remember her big smile and warm hugs. Charles would like to say that he is truly honored to be her best friend and husband throughout 63 years of marriage. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Jones & Jones – Betts Memorial Chapel, 302 9th Street in Wenatchee.
