Michael G. Landin

Michael G Landin joined his Heavenly Father on July 20, 2016, he was 62. He was born November 14, 1953 in Wenatchee, WA, to Rev. Andrew W. Landin Sr. and Frieda Landin. His parents and older siblings; Linda (Landin) Capps and Andrew “Butch” W Landin Jr., had just moved here from Missoula, Montana. He attended Orchard Jr High School and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1972. He also attended Wenatchee Valley College. He married Melinda Thompson on July 26, 1974. Together they enjoyed camping, backpacking into Domke Lake and cross country skiing. Michael also loved riding motorcycles and photography. He always said he had an aesthetic eye for photography. He worked at Wenatchee Honda and got to live his dream riding his motorcycle at Seattle International Raceway. He also worked for Jim Doll Photography taking wedding and class reunion pictures. He later started his own business; Michael Landin Photography. In 1979, his daughter Jill was born and he loved taking pictures of her. An earlier back injury made him a stay at home dad. He loved spending time with Jill. Michael and Melinda divorced in 1986. Michael was very involved in local churches and had a love of God like no other. His most prized possessions were his bibles and his pictures of his daughter and grandchildren. He was very happy and proud to be able to walk his daughter down the aisle just shy of a year ago. His hobbies included flying remote control helicopters and any other remote control vehicle he could get his hands on. He loved camping at Silver Falls, but as his back and neck pain increased and he was unable to do all the physical things he loved, he would sleep outside on an air mattress and gaze at the stars. Michael is survived by his daughter Jill Drakeford; son-in-law, Dra Drakeford, 4 grandchildren; Jazmine Richards (Jacob), Jordyn Jackson, Jeremiah Jackson, James Jackson; sister, Linda Capps; good friend, Daniel Murphy and best friend Roger Dewees. Michael was preceded in death by his mom, dad and brother Butch. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Spirit Life Center, 210 Benton Street, Leavenworth, WA.
