In Loving Memory of Patricia Eileen Ranes; A Life Well-Lived It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Eileen Ranes (nee Gorley) passed on January 15, 2025, at the age of 75 after a very brief battle with cancer. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend who touched the lives of many through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. Early Life Patricia aka Pat and Patty was born on November 20, 1949 in Seattle, Washington to Algie L. Gorley and Marguerite F. Gorley. She grew up in a close-knit family and developed a passion for camping, fishing and family get -togethers. Patricia attended Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood, WA where she graduated in 1968. Career Over the years, Patricia held various roles in the community but will ultimately be remembered for her role as a teacher for pre-school and after school children at a Women’s shelter in Wenatchee before becoming a social worker caring for the elderly in the same area. She was highly respected by colleagues and clients alike for her professionalism and expertise. Personal Life of be remembered as a caring parent Patrcia was married to Douglas Ranes (later divorced). She was blessed with two wonderful daughters: Toni Leigh Hartsock and Sheri Ann Ranes, and two grandchildren: Jagr Hartsock and Mathew Hartsock, who brought immense joy to her life. Patricia always considered and treated her ex-sister-in-law Patty Edfast as a daughter. Patricia was a devoted parent and grandparent who cherished family gatherings, encouraging her daughters in softball, soccer and especially in Sheri’s Special Olympics activities and celebrated every milestone with enthusiasm. Patrcia is also survived by her brother, Dennis Gorley and wife Glena and Neice, Tina Kees and Nephew, Derek Gorley. Hobbies and Interests In her free time, Patricia enjoyed floating the Columbia River in her boat, golfing, fishing. gardening and caring for her cats. Patricia also found time to relax and enjoy the casino, often returning with successful investments. Patricia was known for her undeterred interest in resolving home improvements and maintenance projects on her own. She also always had a list for anyone visiting and often shared her passion with friends and family. Patricia approached everything with zeal and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Legacy Patricia's legacy is one of love, kindness, and resilience. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, boundless compassion, and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful memories and lasting impact she leaves behind. Funeral Service A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with the location to be determined. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects at that time.
