Richard Duane Park

Richard (Rich) Duane Park passed away on Friday October 13 at Confluence Health Hospital due to complications of Diabetes and Heart Issues. He was 69 years young. Rich was born in Seattle, Wa to Betty and Dick Park. With his parents, he and his sisters Madelyn and Sharon moved to Brewster, Wa before he turned one year old. Rich attended Brewster Grade School from grades 1-5, and then the family moved to Quincy, but spent their summers in Brewster to maintain the family orchard. Grades 6-10 were spent in Quincy and then in 1964 the family moved to Brewster where he graduated in 1966. After graduation he attended WSU pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering but during his senior year he decided he wanted to become a licensed Electrician like his father. He fulfilled his Electrical Apprenticeship and began employment working mainly on the dams of the Columbia River as a member of the I.B.E.W. #191. Union, receiving his 50 year pin this year 2017. In 1975 Rich married Roxanne Morris of Coulee Dam and Richard Park Jr. was born. Their family moved to Spokane and then to Brewster so that Rich could run the family orchard but still continued to work as an electrician. Then in 1990 he moved to Wenatchee where he put his roots. In 1997 Rich and Ellen (Hublitz) were married and had 20 years of fun and adventures, traveling to Mexico, Hawaii, and Maine and just in Feb. spent 14 days in the Bahamas. Rich's favorite past time was hunting and fishing and he spent years spending time with his sons on these adventures. Rich and Ellen spent many weeks in Port Alberni fishing. They loved it so much that they purchased a float house on Vancouver Island. Rich is survived by his wife Ellen, children Richard (Tricia) and Ed Holmes. Sisters Madelyn Carol and Sharon Park, grandchildren, Richard Jr., Dalton, Ariele, Hannah, Emily, Brigham, Katie, Aspen, Aisjya and Jake. Nieces Nannette Saint and Tawni Schutter Calengaert and nephews Donnie Saint and Darrell Saint, great nephew Dane Anderson, great niece Ashley Anderson and his special friend and mother-in-law Anne Hublitz of Pateros, Wa. He was preceded in death by his parents Dick and Betty Park, niece Shauna Schutter Rehfeld and son James Holmes.
